Ex-Super Eagles Star, Kanu Laments Seizure of His Properties

Ex Super Eagles Star and Football Legend, Kanu Nwankwo has called on the general public to come to his aid to persuade AMCON to respect Court orders and release his properties.
In a statement by the ex-international footballer and made availble to LEADERSHIP, he said it is no longer news that his property which is known as Herdly Apartments located at Victoria Island Lagos has been put under temporary possession of AMCON on account of purported indebtedness which remains unproven Since November 2015 till date.
Kanu's emotional release explained that this has been the reason his Heart Foundation has been threatened, because with the possession of his hotel been taken by AMCON since he retired as a footballer, the establishment, Hardly Apartments was the source of his funding for the Kanu Heart Foundation.
He also pointed out that some properties in the hotel has been vandalised and also there are attempts to give it to a third party to run.
He called on well-meaning Nigerians to intervene as he said, "As I issue this statement, my heart bleeds, it bleeds indeed, profusely not just because my priced possession which emerged out of my blood and sweat as a footballer is at the risk of being taken away, under the weight of an intractable/ belligerent government apparatus unjustifiably, but because of his imminent defeat of the purpose if its establishment which is to save lives," he explained.

The NBA wants 1 percent of every bet made on its games and also seeks more widespread access to gambling for sports fans. NBA commissioner Adam Silver's league appears to be the first to come around on sports gambling. The league on Wednesday formally requested a set of laws that could be the basis for professional sports leagues pushing for national legalized wagering on games, according to ESPN. Official: Arsenal Loan Out Nigeria U20 Skipper Nwakali To MVV Maastricht

Dutch club MVV Maastricht have confirmed the loan signing of Nigeria U20 international Kelechi Nwakali from Arsenal. Nwakali had to be recalled from a loan spell at VVV Venlo due to his lack of first-team opportunities, and has penned a deal that will keep him at MVV for the rest of the 2017-2018 campaign. Zidane asks Real Madrid supporters not to whistle at Benzema

Real Madrid Manager Zinedine Zidane has expressed support to France forward Karim Benzema, ahead of their Spanish Copa del Rey quarter final return leg against Leganes.  Real fans had whistled Benzema during the football club’s most recent Spanish La Liga match against Deportivo La Coruña. “He [Benzema] wanted to get back quickly and he’s back with the squad now. The only thing he enjoys really is being out with us on the pitch, so it’s good to have him back,”  GOAL  quoted Zidane as saying. “But it’s not good to see him getting whistled when he gets back. This has happened with him and could happen with others.  “What we need from the fans is that they’re with us. Of course, they’re within their rights; they’ve paid so can have opinions, but I want fans to be with us for 90 minutes.  “Karim will be available tomorrow [for the return leg].”  Real Madrid defeated Leganes 1-0 in the first leg.  The return leg will be played at Madrid.
