These athletes bring new meaning to the phrase “living the dream” and they’re not afraid to share their lavish lifestyles with the envious eyes of the world.

Sports stars are worth big bucks and are promised a life akin to royalty. Soccer is known as the world game and the sheer size of player salaries in overseas competitions such as the English Premier League is mind-boggling.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the king of them all.

In 2009, Spanish club Real Madrid sought the services of the Portuguese star and paid a record-setting $105 million just as a transfer fee to bring him from Manchester United.

Ronaldo has never looked back, and according to Forbes Magazine, was the second-highest-paid athlete in the world last year.

Thankfully, Ronaldo has managed to do some good with his disposable income, recently donating $7.9 million to earthquake relief efforts in Nepal.

Floyd Mayweather, on the other hand, has a different type of charity. After his recent “fight of the century” against Manny Pacquiao, Mayweather claimed he would use $10 million of his roughly $180 million paycheck to post the bail of rap mogul Suge Knight, who is facing murder charges. Not quite the same thing.

But Mayweather is nothing if not unapologetic, and the boxer is notorious for the ostentatious lifestyle which he shamelessly flaunts on social media.

Mayweather’s not the only fighter with a love for the high life. MMA fighter Conor McGregor, 26, has exploded in popularity in the past year and become one of the sport’s biggest stars. A glance at his social media activity shows his ascendancy in the UFC has been accompanied by mansions, cars and special slippers for his private jet.
